Our Joy Complete

1John.1.4 And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete. (ESV)

It amazes me that all that John seeks to write in this letter is so that *our joy may be complete.* 

So if we doubt the physical existence of Jesus (2000 years ago) and his divine power we rob ourselves of joy (1 John 1:1-3)

If we do not submit to the truth, we rob ourselves of joy. If we walk in darkness, we rob ourselves of joy. If we don't confess our sins, we rob ourselves of joy. If we don't admit our guilt of sin, we rob ourselves of joy... (1 John 1:5-8)

Joy is sustained through continual belief in the true person of Jesus and His teachings as taught by his apostles. (1 John 1:1-3; acts 2:42)

Joy is sustained through walking in the light and submitting to His truth. Joy is sustained through admitting our guilt of sins and confessing them. (1 John 1: 5-9)

Come to think of it... When our joy isn't complete we probably have departed from some of the things John writes.

Micah 5 The chapter talks about either the immediate future of the Israelites then which was around the late 700 BC or the future when Christ is Born through Israel or even the future which even we are yet to see about Israel... This chapter was meant to warn Israel of the coming judgement because of their sin and at the same time give them hope for a better future. Hope that God hasn't completely disregarded them but will redeem them. The verses that have really stood out for me are: Micah 5:2,4-5 [2]But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, though you be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall He come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. [4]And He shall stand and feed his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God ; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth. John 1:1-4 [1]In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2]The same was in the beginning with God. [3]All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [4]In him was life; and the life was the light of men. For years I have been grappling with the meaning of the term - The Word. I always searched through extrabiblical sources to understand the term. However I never imagined that verse 3 and 4 that could be an explanation to the term the Word. All things were made through Him and without nothing could be. Just imagine that!! All creation in all its marvel, beauty and magnifence would not exist without Christ. Not only so but also in Him was life.
