The last article I wrote was a rational judgement on whether Kenya is a Christian Nation. If you did not catch it, here is the link; https://scripturemonger.blogspot.com/2020/06/is-kenya-really-christian-nation.html I concluded that the country cannot be regarded as a Christian nation. I know that is quite a controversial statement but it is a statement I am willing to stand by unless I perceive notable changes, in line with the word of God, in the future. Many think that they are Christian mainly because they were born in a Christian family. This has even led some antagonists of the Christian faith in Kenya to suggest that the reason for widespread Christianity in Kenya is because of families; otherwise, if this was Middle East or China, we probably would have been, as them, a Muslim or an atheist nation respectively. They ignore the fact that even in such countries, there are nu...

In our country, it is popularly known that around 75-80 % of it consists of Christians. However, we can’t ever overestimate the many vices that take place in our country. The Christian label is used by some politicians as a way of promoting themselves. Corruption is a cancer in this country; it is actually so bad that if a Christian doesn’t bribe they will say it as a testimony in Church. Sexual immorality is continually increasing yet few ever blush about it. Marriages are broken in accordance to convenience. Apostate Christians are proudly declaring their rejection of the faith. Many only live their faith in a manner of convenience; when situations demand otherwise they do what is necessary. Those who stick to what is right are regarded as hypocrites or self-righteous. Within the church itself; envy, strife, divisions and selfish ambitions, witchcraft and pluralism reign supreme. I won’t even labor to talk about the many so called “Men of God” who have unashamedly and arrogantly...

Shocking, right!? This is the assertion that I have heard a number of atheists that are in Kenya confidently state in public. Before I can go further into the subject I wish first to affirm my admiration for the attitude in the atheists in our country. Majority of our country seeks to crucify them. I recently watched a video of an atheist being chased by police and church faithful in western Kenya for stating that God is a figment of their imagination. They have been labelled as witches and demon possessed. There are other evidences in Kenya that suggests that this country is largely not ready to accommodate atheism and yet the atheists are still fighting for their recognition despite the fierce opposition. Therefore, I applaud their resilience (I know I sound like a liberal but I entreat your indulgence). On the other hand, I have heard some of the atheists (mostly the prominent ones in Kenya) state that Jesus did not exist as one of their reasons for their belief in the non- exi...

Gen 18:20 – Then the Lord said, “The OUTCRY against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great…” Honestly, this is how I feel about the world right now. By ‘the world’ I neither mean the cities, the buildings, the cars nor the gadgets that we use, but the whole system that the world is held under. Suffering and sins are the main reasons for the outcry. I weep that suffering in this world is inevitable whether one is rich or poor. I sob that suffering is ever creative on how it is going to capture its prey, on how it is going to inflict pain. Suffering inflicts pain on either the inner being or the outer being, at times even both. A child being born with a disease and their whole lives living at the mercy of it. A young boy losing their only parent and having to fend for himself and his little siblings. A young couple getting married and finding out they can’t get children or even losing their child at birth. Corr...
